Professional
Will Dowling
- Will is a Programmer/Systems Engineer with over six years experience the Telecommunications and Health industries.
Currently occupying the Affiliate seat on the WAIA Executive, Will is looks after the Treasurer and Compliance Officer portfolios and has been responsible for the day-to-day accounts of the organisation for the past six months while our regular accountant has been away on leave.
If re-elected, my focus will be on assisting the existing staff resources in bringing more content and services onto the WAIX fabric, as well as ensuring that the organisation is operated consistently and fairly for the benefit of the local peering community.
Please Note: Will currently holds the Affiliate seat until the 2012 AGM, and has pledged to resign his Affiliate position if he is elected for the Professional seat.
In line with changes made at the 2010 AGM, once the Affiliate seat is vacated - the position will no longer exist.
Joe Wooller *WITHDRAWN*
- I am currently employed as the Technical Manager for WAIA, unfortunately this does not give me a right to vote on the exec as to the direction of the association. I am nominating myself as I believe I have a vested interested in keeping WAIA relevant and prosperous for the members. As being employed to look after WAIX and now the new IX's the association has deployed I have a good insight to what other projects WAIA may develop on to help benefit our Membership base and the Internet Community, not only in WA but Nationally.
Matt Didcoe
- Matt is a Systems Administrator and part-time student at the University of Western Australia. Matt brings previous executive experience, having served two years on the Australian Web Industry Association committee, chairing the Edge of the Web conference committee in 2011 and being the current Vice-President and Immediate Past President of the University Computer Club Inc.
If elected, I would bring a fresh set of eyes to the association and work to expand the public knowledge of WAIA while ensuring continued value to members and a continual increase in the content made available through the local and growing national peering networks being driven by the good work of WAIA.
Kelly French
- Kelly has been a member of WAIA for a number of years and has served on the executive for the last 5 years. If re-elected his focus will be to attract more individual and corporate members to join WAIA and to obtain WAIX services and products.
Gavin Tweedie
- Gavin Tweedie has been actively involved in the day to day running of WAIA for over 10 years both as the previous Technical Manager and more recently as a member of the committee. Over the years he has been responsible for the successful bidding for, and hosting of, the APRICOT 2006 conference in Perth and involved in the development of most aspects of the WAIX peering point and associated services. Gavin is employed as a Senior Network Engineer at iiNet.
Gavin is passionate about peering and interconnect, net neutrality & increasing availability to next generation internet services such as the NBN and hopes to continue his work with WAIA in the future.
Corporate
R-COM International Pty Ltd (Chris Markovic)
- I am the technical director of R-Group International which works in the IT management, Managed Services and VoIP sectors. I have a passion for the ICT sector and want to see WA at the forefront of ICT for Australia and the AEC. I am currently in this position and have been involved with WAIA over the last 3 years..
Ciphertel (Pawel Mrugalski)
- I am interested in nominating myself for a position on the executive Board in the WAIX class. I am currently employed by CipherTel Pty Ltd in the role of Regional Manager and Network Engineer for their IT and ISP operations. I have over 12 years experience in the IT and Internet field and believe my background and experience plus may continued education and interest in the development of the industry would make me a suitable candidate for a position on the executive.
